As a believer, do you understand your purpose from God’s worldview? Christians are often encouraged to think of themselves as “ambassadors for Christ” (II Cor. 5:20), but the question must be asked; What does ambassador mean in a world where even the Saviour’s own people forget he is the King of Kings? For more on this crucial question join the new The Worldview Course - 2.0 - Going Deeper

Worldview Course

Runs: Weekly, every Wednesday
Starting:
September 14th @7:00PM - 8:30PM(MST)
Ends: November 9th @ 8:30PM (MST)
Where: Online

The aim of Faith Beyond Belief’s Worldview Course is to equip Christians to engage in meaningful conversations that challenge others to think about the Christian worldview.

But before we can engage others, we have to get clear ourselves on what we believe and why we believe it–or even just get clear on why it matters!

This is why the Worldview Course starts by discussing the most basic ideas: what is a worldview and why does it matter that we have the right worldview? The course goes on to cover other essential topics that every Christian ambassador needs to understand in order to be equipped to represent Christ well in our confused, and often hostile, culture.

Identity Project 2.0 - Fall 2022

Runs: Weekly, every Tuesday
Starting:
Tuesday, Sept 13th @ 7:00PM (MST)
Ends: Tuesday, Nov. 29th @ 8:30 PM (MST)
Where: Online - Zoom

IP 2.0 is first and foremost an exploration of Identity from a Christian perspective. Students will develop a biblical foundation to understand gender and sexuality through this lens. The conclusion will be that for Christians, Identity is first and foremost found in Jesus.

Each session will explore a topic around identity, gender and sexuality. This will include Scripture and biblical answers to our most profound questions concerning identity. We will begin with the concept of identity and that when humanity lost its core identity in God, an endless fruitless quest for a replacement began. From here, we will explore our culture's natural inclination to find identity in sex, orientation, gender, desire, relationships and more. These identities cannot fulfill our deep longing for something more. Finally, we will discuss identity in Christ and how it is the only way to fulfill our deepest longings for meaning and relationship.

For ages 13+

December 8, at 5:00 PM MST

Can God still be with us at Christmas?

Canadian culture has embraced more than just material celebrations of Christmas. It’s increasingly embraced a secular moral standard for what Christmas is, embracing a spirit of giving, peace, and of course, love but all without Jesus. In our next Everyday Conversations Live Podcast, we’ll hear from Christian apologist and Ph.D. student, Logan Gates from Ontario. We’ll discuss how we can remind ourselves while showing others, that Christmas is all about Immanuel, God being with us. Join us Wednesday, Dec 8th at 5 PM MT.

Effective Conversations -Online Class Series

So often as Christians we want to share our faith and have spiritual conversations with others but get stuck. We are unsure how to start conversations, how to keep them going, or how to manage difficult responses from others. Join Faith Beyond Belief's Amy Beange as we explore how to do these very things – we will cover evangelism in the early church, turning ordinary topics toward spiritual matters, asking questions that will prompt deeper thought, managing conversations with people who are aggressive or who simply know more than we do, and evaluating conversations so we can improve.

Classes will run weekly on Wednesdays from April 14 - June 30 at 6:30 PM MT. Classes run for 1 hour with Q & A

Be Ready Pre Conference Event - Conversations that Saved My Life

As Alberta cities ban “conversion therapy,” FBB’s executive director Jojo Ruba says they are also banning counseling that Christians and others want. He says these bans make no distinction between coercive counseling and counseling consented to by patients. Ruba says these life-saving conversations are worth protecting both from a pastoral perspective and from personal experience. For the first time in public, Ruba will walk through three kinds of conversations that helped him deal with the issues of sexuality and gender in his own life, and show how God uses everyday conversations to save lives.

When you read the book of Acts, you begin to realize just how much we're like the early church. Yet God took those those ordinary people to transform the Roman Empire and human history. Join Faith Beyond Belief as we examine the conversation skills Jesus modeled and then trained His disciples in so that they could engage the culture. We'll discuss the basic assumptions we make in conversations, the questions we should ask and effective responses to challenges brought to us. More importantly, we'll look at how Jesus saw success in conversations - and how that doesn't always mean being liked by others. By the end of these sessions you'll begin to understand how much God can use us and our ordinary conversations to change the world.
